technology

enigmaTag™ is an advanced asset marking and counterfeit technology, developed in the USA and marketed here in the UK by RedWeb Security. enigmaTag™ compliments RedWeb Security's perpetrator DNA spray systems.

enigmaTag™ uses encrypted microparticles in a solution that, when applied to valuables, provides a unique, invisible tag. This tag can be instantly identified by a special police-use handheld device. Each bottle of fluid has a unique code that provides an evidential chain linking stolen goods to a registered household.

How enigmaTag™ asset marking works

enigmaTag™ microparticles are invisible to the naked eye, and each microparticle contains a unique code. Hundreds of thousands of microparticles in each application of enigmaTag™ create an incredibly complex, totally unique signature.

Partnered with

enigmaTag™ has partnered with www.MyThings.com who operate a secure and private(optional) online asset register service that helps keep track of belongings e.g. when and where they were bought, for how much etc. Your enigmaTag™ code-marked items can then be registered with MyThings.

The identity of the householder is kept secret and the Police hold a separate owner database where the enigmaTag™ code is also registered.

Should an item marked with enigmaTag™ be stolen and reported to the Police and MyThings it will move to a Police-access register of stolen goods, www.trace.com.

This helps the police identify goods that are recovered after a theft: the registered item can be instantly linked to the location where the enigmaTag™ mark was registered. In terms of policing this provides proof of an injured party and grounds for arresting a suspect.

In conjunction with the enigmaTag™ solution itself, each pack contains warning stickers and product marking labels that inform would-be thieves that enigmaTag™ has been used. This adds to the efficacy of enigmaTag™ by making it a deterrent as well as an asset recovery tool.
