A Costcutter store in Manchester was suffering from multiple attacks, armed robberies and shoplifting.
The store manager had certainly had enough when at the end of a three-month spell he had been robbed or threatened eight times. This was despite fitting an alarm system and 11 CCTV cameras. Police were not responding in time and the manager was putting himself at real risk by confronting the criminals, sometimes giving chase with a baseball bat.
